Contingency plan
Problem
How will you avoid or solve this problem?
Models do not turn up to your shoot.
You can avoid this problem by making sure they know specifically the
date and times and work out a date and time that is perfect for you and your
models. You could solve this by having a back up model on standby.
Models not turning up with correct costume.
Tell them the night before what they need to wear, go through with
them what you want them to wear, and maybe go to their house and decide
yourself, also you could avoid this by bringing a spare costume in case they
forget.
Memory sticks getting lost.
Back it up on your workspace and make sure you save in a certain
file, you could even make two files just in case you have them there. You
could back it up on two memory sticks, or just not use a memory stick at all.
Cameras running out of batteries.
You could ask the person helping you too have back up batteries, or
make sure you bring some in with you.
Props going missing.
Make sure your props are already the night before and have them in a
bag ready to take to college the next day, if they go missing, make sure you
have got back ups that you can put in the bag, try and get 2 of each prop.
Not enough time scheduled for complex shots.
Make sure your shots are ready and you know exactly what you are
doing the night before, plan well ahead and maybe write down or draw a
diagram of how you want your set, or go for a more simple idea that still
looks good and puts the message across.
Running out of network space.
The day before make sure you have enough network space to be able to
store the photos, make sure you have files they can be stored in to and
delete any unnecessary documents that make take up space.
Equipment failure
The day before check the equipment and make sure it works, do and
make sure everything is in order so that the shoot will be well done.
Vital files getting deleted.
Make sure you save them to two files or workspaces so you have copies
or save them on a workspace at home, and even save them on a memory stick if
you have to.
