Planning Comments
article genre
(purpose, type)
This type of article is a kind of work article, a review, to try and make someone better at what they are, improving and teaching, the purpose of this article is to give tips on wingers who play rugby and how to improve with their agility and things, and to also explain how wing play and being fast and agile is as important in rugby as being a good hard tackler.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)
Again it will be 2nd person, this is because i am addressing the audience, explaining to them how they can improve and telling them how important being a wing player, by doing this the readers will feel comfortable.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
This article will be informal as I am trying to draw them in and make them read, and try to make them feel comfortable if my register is too formal they may find it boring, like my other articles it wont be too informal as that would make it look tacky I feel. I will use dialect to make them feel more comfortable.
Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
I will be using adjectives to describe certain players and certain styles of play, i will maybe use metaphors and similes to give good bold examples of certain players, and I may use alliteration to make it sound clever and energetic.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
The tone wont be too serious as like I said I don’t want them to feel like they are being bored, so I will try to be “matey” and jokey towards them so they feel at home, but not too friendly as it needs to be serious when im explaining how you can improve.
Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
The pace will be large sentences but small paragraphs, contrast to my other but I believe this means it will flow slowly and people will take it in more. I want it to be structured so people feel its more serious and understand it more and accept it more.
